1. Be up to your neck in something: to be extremely busy 埋頭忙于某事

昨天下班想跟一位同事聊聊春節(jié)計(jì)劃，誰(shuí)知道他跟我說(shuō)：

I'm sorry I can't talk to you now－I'm up to my neck in paperwork.
很抱歉我現(xiàn)在無(wú)法與你談話，我正忙于處理文件。

你們看看我這位同事，桌上積壓的文件都快跟他脖子一樣高了，到底是堆了多少工作沒(méi)完成呀？

2. Be on the go (=be on the move): to be very busy for a period of time, especially when this makes you tired. 忙個(gè)不停

一直在東奔西跑，可不是在“忙個(gè)不?！蹦?！來(lái)看看這個(gè)例句有沒(méi)有道出你的心聲：

I've been on the go all week — I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend now.
我一整個(gè)星期都在忙個(gè)不停——正盼望周末能放松一下呢。

對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)，忙了這么久，放松一下的方式當(dāng)然是睡上一整天，嘻嘻。

3. Have your hands full: to be busy because you have to deal with a lot of different jobs or problems. 忙得不可開(kāi)交

為了處理不同的事，忙得兩只手都沒(méi)閑著，這個(gè)表達(dá)忙碌的說(shuō)法還是挺形象的吧？

You must have your hands full with all this work to do and the children to look after.
你有這么多工作要做，還要照顧孩子，肯定是忙得脫不開(kāi)身了。

4. As busy as a bee: very busy 忙得團(tuán)團(tuán)轉(zhuǎn)

She's been as busy as a bee since she graduated from college.
她自從畢業(yè)以后一直忙得要命。

這可能是中國(guó)學(xué)生表達(dá)忙碌最常用的詞組了吧，畢竟大家對(duì)辛勤工作的小蜜蜂還是比較熟悉的。

5. Have enough, a lot, etc. on your plate: (informal) have enough, a lot of things, etc. to do or be responsible for 手頭有太多的事要處理；問(wèn)題（或工作等）成堆

在plate（盤(pán)子）中的可不只有食物喔，“on one's plate”在牛津詞典中的解釋為“occupying one's time or energy”，表示占用某人時(shí)間和能力，所以“have a lot on your plate”就是手頭有很多事情要處理的意思啦。例如：

She has a lot on her plate at the moment; that's why she looks so worried all the time.
現(xiàn)在她有一堆事兒要操心，所以看上去一直都很焦慮。

6. Be tied up: If someone or something is tied up, they are busy or being used, with the result that they are not available for anything else. 忙得脫不開(kāi)身的，不得閑的

I'm afraid I'll be tied up tomorrow morning.
恐怕明天上午我會(huì)很忙。

7. Be rushed/run off your feet: spoken to be very busy and always in a hurry 忙得不可開(kāi)交

All the sales assistants are run off their feet. The shop ought to take on more staff.
營(yíng)業(yè)員全都忙個(gè)不停，商店里應(yīng)該增加人手。
