1.連讀+Flap T：What a

   失爆：nut job

對話中：What a nut job!

連讀分析：當(dāng)兩個(gè)單詞相鄰時(shí)，前一個(gè)單詞詞尾是輔音，后一個(gè)單詞開頭是元音的時(shí)候，可以作輔元連讀。比如這里的What a /w?t?/(/t/是輔音，/?/是元音)。

Flap T分析：連讀基礎(chǔ)之上，/t/在兩個(gè)元音音標(biāo)之間且非重讀，所以/t/可以讀為一個(gè)很輕的/d/, 可以讀為/w?d?/。

失爆分析：當(dāng)兩個(gè)單詞相鄰時(shí)，前一個(gè)單詞詞尾是爆破音，后一個(gè)單詞開頭是輔音，這時(shí)前面的爆破音不發(fā)出聲音，稍作停頓。比如這里的nut job /n?td?ɑ?b/（/t/為爆破音，/d?/為輔音，所以可以讀為/n?td?ɑ?b/）。

So, our first word is “insane”.

If you say someone is insane, then you are saying he/she is mentally ill，which is serious.

For example,

She had gone insane.

她發(fā)瘋了。

insane還常用來表示人的行為/想法是瘋狂的，愚蠢的。

It seems insane to agree to the idea.

Now, let’s take a look at our next word–stalk.

現(xiàn)在，讓我們來看看下一個(gè)單詞——stalk。

2.stalk /st??k/ v. 悄悄跟蹤

When you stalk someone, you follow them secretly for a long time.

當(dāng)你悄悄跟蹤一個(gè)人，你會悄悄地跟著他/她們很長時(shí)間。

拓展：

stalk + er = stalker  n.跟蹤者

在英語中，有很多像stalk這樣的動(dòng)詞，加上單詞后綴“-er” 表示“做某事的人”，如：

3.nut job /?n?t ?d?ɑ?b/ n. 瘋子

It is informal, which means a crazy person.

這個(gè)單詞是一個(gè)非正式的用法，意思是一個(gè)瘋狂的人。

It’s a little bit of insulting.

這個(gè)單詞是有些無禮的，所以我們在使用的時(shí)候注意一下。

Okay, I’ll give you an example.

Many people view him as a nut job.

And the fourth word we have is soul mate.

Let me give you some examples of how we can use tackle.

Example one,

I’ll tackle the difficult problems.

Example two,

I’ll tackle the difficult tasks.

Alright, let's take a look at some interesting phrases.

Well, I've got three phrases for you.

The first one is show up.

第一個(gè)是show up。

1.show up 出現(xiàn)

To show up is to come to a place, to arrive.

show up就是說去到一個(gè)地方，出現(xiàn)在那里，到了這個(gè)地方。

I think if we listen to some examples, it will help us to understand the meaning of this phrase.

我認(rèn)為如果我們聽一些例子，它會幫助我們理解這個(gè)短語的意思。

Example one,

We were waiting for you like an hour, you never showed up.

我們一直等你等了有一個(gè)小時(shí)，你并沒出現(xiàn)。

Example two,

I invited her for the party, but she didn't show up.

Now, let's take a look at our next phrase, get worked up over nothing.

It’s an adjective, which means very excited, angry or upset.

worked up是一個(gè)形容詞，表示很興奮，很生氣，很煩惱。

雖然是一個(gè)形容詞，但是它不用在名詞后面，通常跟在be動(dòng)詞后面，或者和get連用。

Okay, let’s look at some examples.

好的，我們來看一些例子。

Example one,

What is he so worked up about?

他為了什么那么生氣？

Example two,

Tom got all worked up over the basketball game.

Tom對那場籃球比賽很興奮。

② Next，let’s look at “over nothing”

現(xiàn)在我們來看一下over nothing。

Over nothing means for no reason.

Over nothing意思就是沒有理由。

For example

You always get angry over nothing. You have such a bad temper.

比如，你總是無緣無故地生氣，你脾氣真差。

③ get worked up over nothing 白激動(dòng)/生氣/煩惱一場

For example,

You're getting yourself worked up over nothing. I'm sure the doctor will tell you it's nothing.

3.on purpose 故意地，有意地

Let me give you some examples.

Example two,

Was it an accident or did Mary do it on purpose?

So, on purpose means doing something deliberately.
