問星期 What is today? It is Monday? What day is it today? It is Monday.

第四部分重要語法情態(tài)動詞專項講解:

一、can(could)的用法:

1. (表示能力)能,會 2. (表示可能性)可能,可能會 3. (表示允許、請求)可以

二、may(might)的用法

1.表示請求和允許,意思是:可以2.表示祝愿,意思是:?!?,(但愿)。

3.表示推測,意思是:可能(會),或許(會)。

三、must(have to)的用法

1.表“必須”。 2.在否定結(jié)構(gòu)中表不許,mustn’t“禁止”。

4.表推測,暗含有很大的可能性,用在肯定句。

注意: may 暗含的可能性較小。must 暗含的可能性較大。否定的猜測用can't

The baby can't be ill. He is so active.那寶寶不大可能是病了。他那么活躍。

四、should的用法 “應該”、“應當”,可以和 ought to, be supposed to 互換使用。例如:

You should (= are supposed to)complete your test in time. 你們應該按時做完你們的實驗。

should 可以用在條件狀語從句中,表示語氣較強的假設,譯作“萬一”、“竟然”,

If it should rain tomorrow,I wouldn't go. 萬一明天天下雨,我就不去了。

五、would的用法

1.would是will的過去式,Would you like~? 表示請求、勸說,是很客氣的說法。

2.主語+would like to~

表示“想要……”的意思上,與…want to~意思一樣,但用此句型較客氣。

第五部分課文其他重點內(nèi)容

1. 復習時間狀語介詞:星期、具體日期、具體某一天的早上、下午、晚上用on;

例如:On Sunday, on October 4th, on Monday morning/ afternoon/ evening, on a cold night…

年份、 月份、季節(jié),在早上、下午、晚上用in.

例如:In 1999, in November, in the morning/ afternoon/ evening, in summer …

at+ 時刻 for+ 時間段(強調(diào)句子謂語動詞的持續(xù)性、不間斷性)

Mr Smith walked into an old city in Beijing ______ a cold morning .

The doctor often tells children to sleep______ eight hours at night.

When did your mom arrive in Beijing ,Jim? ______ half past six

注意:有了this , that, next , yesterday, tomorrow, 這些詞時無介詞。

This Monday, that afternoon, yesterday morning, tomorrow afternoon, next summer….

2.too much,太多,修飾不可數(shù)名詞,too many, 修飾可數(shù)名詞; much too, 太,后接形容詞

3. whole adj 整個的;全部的;完整的 all 全部的

(1)在單數(shù)名詞前多用whole ,在復數(shù)名詞前多用all.

the whole school 整個學校 all the students 所有的學生

(2)all 可以修飾不可數(shù)名詞, whole 一般不修飾不可數(shù)名詞

all the money 所有的錢all the food 所有的食品

(3 ) 在表示時間的名詞前既可以用whole 也可能用all 但要注意其結(jié)構(gòu)不同

all the month = the whole month He’s jumping and singing the whole day .

He looked at the whole school ,but he couldn’t find it anywhere.

4.bring , take, carry

Bring 帶來,拿來 Please ask your father to bring you here in August.

Take 帶去,拿去 Remember to take your books when you leave.

Carry“隨身攜帶”,搬,抗,拿,提,帶等

I never carry much money. She carried her baby in her arms

5. I have to help my parents. 我必須幫助我的父母親。

Have to +v原 ''不得不//必須、'' must+v原 ''必須'' .二者比較如下:

have to有人稱和數(shù)的變化,即第三人稱單數(shù)用has to,其他人稱用have to;

而must沒有人稱或數(shù)的變化。

例:He has to go there to visit his aunt.他不得不去那里拜訪他的姑姑。

have to有時態(tài)的變化,must沒有。

例:He had to study late for the math test.他不得不為數(shù)學測試而學到很晚。

have to強調(diào)客觀上“不得不”做某事;(非本身愿意) must指主觀上“必須”做某事 (本身愿意) 例:We must study hard.我們一定要努力學習。

主語We本身愿意 Students have to do so much homework every night.

主語students不愿意寫這么多作業(yè)

6. What a small party ! 多小型的一個聚會啊。

語法小解:感嘆句

① 感嘆句: 指表達喜怒哀樂等強烈感情的句子。一般可譯為漢語的: ''........?。?.......呀''

② 構(gòu)成:主要由what 和how 來引導。

What + a/an+adj+ 可數(shù)名詞單數(shù) +(主+謂)

What +adj+ 可數(shù)名詞復數(shù)+(主+謂)

What +adj+ 不可數(shù)名詞 +(主+謂) 是 名詞

How感嘆句:How +adj/adv+(主+謂) What +adj+ a/an+可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)+(主+謂)

7. I'm really busy this week. 這個星期我真的很忙。

be busy with+n 忙于某事 Betty is busy with her homework.

be busy +doing sth 忙于做某事 = Betty is busy______ (do) her homework.

8 class與lesson 區(qū)別:

① 在著重指“課時”時,可互換使用。We have four English classes/lessons every week.

表示班級、課堂、課堂活動時只能用class

Don't talk in class. There are fifteen classes in our school, and I'm in Class 8.

③ 表示課、第幾課、科目、功課時只能用lesson. We study Chinese,Maths,English and other lessons. There are 12 lessons in this book and Lesson Two is a little difficult.

9.another////other///others 比較:

Another. adj. ''三個及以上的另一...///再一...'' another+可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)

Other. adj. ''其他的、、、///'' other+ 可數(shù)名詞復數(shù)

Others. 代詞. ''其他人或物' others 后不加名詞

① Did you meet______ people in the library just now?

② Some boys are playing soccer and ______ are watching them.

③ -Sir, this watch doesn't work .Can you show me______ one? -Sure. Wait please.

10.復習 月份類、星期類、常見序數(shù)詞

月份類: 一月 January 二月 February三月 March四月 April五月 May六月 June 七月 July八月 August九月 September十月 October十一月 November十二月 December

星期類: 星期一:Monday 星期二:Tuesday 星期三:Wednesday 星期四:Thursday

星期五:Friday 星期六:Saturday 星期天:Sunday

友情提示: The first day of a week is Sunday. 英語中,一周的第一天是Sunday,而非 Monday.

對星期提問:What day is (it) today ?今天是星期幾?It's Tuesday today.\

對日期提問:What's the date today ?今天是幾月幾號?It's September 10th.

對日期和星期同時提問:What's today?今天是什么日子?It's Monday the 14th.

11.Invitation n.邀請,請?zhí)?/p>

invitation為名詞,意為“邀請,請?zhí)?。其動詞形式是invite,意為“邀請”。

12·Jenny,can you come to my party on Saturday afternoon?珍妮,你能來參加我星期六下午的聚會嗎?這是一個婉轉(zhuǎn)請求對方去做某事的句型。情態(tài)動詞can此處用來提出邀請。

Can you go shopping with me? Can you go to the movies this evening?

[辨析] can與could

Can為情態(tài)動詞,可表示邀請或請求。用could時語氣更委婉。其肯定答語一般為

Sure,I’d love to;否定答語中可用Sorry代替No,以示禮貌,即Sorry.I can't.

一Can you help me with my English?你能幫我學英語嗎?

一Sure,I’d love to. /Sorry, I can't.I'm a little ill.當然,我很樂意。我很抱歉我有點病了。

13.I’d love to.我愿意。 I’d love to是I would love to的縮略形式。

常用來回答對方客氣的邀請,也可以用I'd like to來表示,意為“我很愿意”。

—Would you love to go to the movies with me? 你愿意和我一起去看電影嗎?

How about...=What about...用來征求意見或詢問消息,意為“……怎么樣?/……好不好?”。

play soccer意為“踢足球”,play后接表示體育運動項目的名詞時,名詞前不加冠詞。

play basketball打籃球 play volleyball打排球

play tennis打網(wǎng)球 p1ay baseball打棒球 play football踢足球

表示“彈(奏)”某種樂器時,樂器名詞前必須用定冠詞the。

Play the piano彈鋼琴 play the guitar彈吉他 play the accordion拉手風琴

16.Whom誰 whom是who的賓格,在句中作賓語。

The girl with whom Jim is talking is my sister.=The girl(whom)Jim is talking with is my sister.正在和吉姆講話的那位姑娘是我妹妹。 、

17.Come and have fun!來開心吧!

have fun意為“過得愉快,玩得高興”,與have a good/great/nice time及enjoy oneself同義,都可以接動名詞表示“高高興興地做某事/愉快地做某事”。

18.join v.參加join用作及物動詞,意為“參加,加入(某一團體或組織)”。

My father joined the Party in 1993.My brother joined the football club.

join與介詞in或for連用,表示和某人一起做某事。

Can you join us in the game?和我們一起做游戲好嗎?

I’d like to join you for tea.我想和你們一起喝茶。

19.a(chǎn) lot很,非常,a lot相當于副詞,表示“十分,很”,常用來修飾形容詞或副詞的比較級。

Thanks a lot.非常感謝。This picture is a lot more interesting than that one.這幅畫比那幅有趣。

20.Please call me after the vacation.請似期后給我打電話。

call sb.意為“給某人打電話”。還可用:telephone/phone sb./ring sb.up,make/give a telephone call to sb.來表示。

I made/gave a telephone call to you,but there was no reply.我給你打過電話。但沒人接。

21.Write replies to the invitation, ms.給邀請函寫回信。Reply v.&n回答,答復

Have you had a reply to your letter? Should I reply to his letter?我要回他的信嗎?

He replied that he knew nothing about it.他回答說,他對此事一無所知。

answer和reply都可以表示“答復”,但接名詞或代詞作賓語時,reply后必須加to,而answer后則不加to;且reply 指經(jīng)過考慮一一答復,answer只表示一般的“應答”。

I didn't answer Too.but I replied to Mike.我沒有答復湯姆,但答復了邁克。

22.match n.比賽 match為名詞,意為“比賽,競賽”,有雙方參與,多指網(wǎng)球、足球、高爾夫球等體育運動項目的比賽,常指比較正規(guī)的大型比賽。

There will be a tennis match this afternoon.今天下午有一場網(wǎng)球比賽。

game(美式英語),指“比賽”,也可用以指比賽中的局、場次;match(英式英語),專指tennis網(wǎng)球,wrestling摔跤,boxing拳擊等“比賽”。

Though we lost the first two games,we managed to win the match at last.

盡管我們翰了前兩場,但最終還是贏得這場比賽的勝利。

23.Sam isn’t leaving until next Wednesday.薩姆要一直待到下周三才走。

【解】not ...until...意為“直到......才......”。在口語中,還可使用till代替until。

Don’t leave today’s work till tomorrow.今日事今日畢。

We didn’t stop talking until Mr. Gao came in.直到高老師進來我們才停止說話。

此句還可以說成:We didn’t stop talking before Mr. Gao came in.

或We stopped talking after Mr. Gao came in.

24.I look forward to hearing from you all.我期盼著你們的答復。

【解】look forward to sth./doing sth.意為“期待某事/做某事”

I’m really looking forward to seeing my little grandson again.我好期待再次見到我的小孫子。

hear from sb.意為“收到某人的來信”,同義詞組:get a letter from sb.或receive a letter from sb.

I haven’t heard from my brother for two years. 兩年來我沒有收到哥哥的來信。

25.Please reply in writing to this invitation by Friday, December 20th.

請于12月20日星期五前以書面方式恢復此邀請。

【解】reply to …意為“答復……” ;此處介詞in 表示方式,相當于漢語“用……方式” ,此處介詞by意為“到……為止;……之前;截止至……” 。

Do you want to reply to these letters?你打算回復這些來信嗎?

I telephoned several times, but nobody replied/ answered. 我打了好幾次電話,可是沒人接。

You should get your homework ready by Friday.你應當最遲于星期五前把作業(yè)準備好。(星期五是最后一天)

26.Bring Ms. Steen to the party without telling her so that she can be surprised.

帶斯蒂恩老師去晚會。不要告訴她,以便她會感到驚喜。

【解】so that引導目的狀語從句時,表示“以便;為了”,從句中常使用can /could /may /might /will /would /should等情態(tài)動詞或助動詞;引導結(jié)果狀語從句時,從句中一般不用can和may等詞,在so that前可以用逗號,意思是“因此;所以”。

so+形容詞或副詞+that ...引導結(jié)果狀語從句。

so+形容詞或副詞+that ...引導的肯定的結(jié)果狀語從句,意思是“如此……以致于……”。

注意:當that引導的結(jié)果狀語從句為肯定句時,so ... that ...可以與be ... enough to do轉(zhuǎn)換;當從句為否定句時,可以與too ... to ... 或be not ... enough to do轉(zhuǎn)換。:

David was so careless that he didn't find the mistakes in his test paper.

David was__________ careless __________find the mistakes in his test paper.

A:The boy is so young that he can't look after himself.

B:The boy is not__________ to look after himself.(改寫句子,使B句與A句意思相近)

so ... that ... 引導結(jié)果狀語從句有時候可以與such ... that ...句型相互轉(zhuǎn)換。

如: The stone is so heavy that I can't lift it up.

It is__________ a heavy stone __________I can't lift it up.(改寫句子)
