Lesson 95 Tickets, please.

Two return tickets to London please. What time will the next train leave?

At nineteen minutes past eight.

Which platform?

Platform Two. Over the bridge.

What time will the next train leave?

At eight nineteen.

We’ve got plenty of time.

It’s only three minutes to eight.

Let’s go and have a drink. There’s a bar next door to the station.

We had better go back to the station now, Ken.

Tickets, please.

We want to catch the eight nineteen to London.

You’ve just missed it!

What! It’s only eight fifteen.

I’m sorry, sir. That clock’s ten minutes slow.

When’s the next train?

In five hours’ time!

In five hours' time!

本課繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)一般將來(lái)時(shí)的用法，只是本課側(cè)重學(xué)習(xí)的是該時(shí)態(tài)的標(biāo)志詞“in+一段時(shí)間+'s+time”的用法，它主要分為兩大類。

一、當(dāng)“一段時(shí)間”為單數(shù)時(shí)

此時(shí)，其用法為“in+一段時(shí)間+'s+time”。如：

He will come back in an hour's time.

二、當(dāng)“一段時(shí)間”為復(fù)數(shù)時(shí)

此時(shí)，其用法為“in+一段時(shí)間+'+time”。如：

He will come back in three hours' time.

【注意】

要注意“in+一段時(shí)間”與“in+一段時(shí)間+'s+time”的區(qū)別。

1、in+一段時(shí)間

主要表示“在多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間內(nèi)；花了多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間”，相當(dāng)于“within+一段時(shí)間”。如：

He ran the marathon in six hours and 20 minutes.

他花了6小時(shí)20分鐘跑完馬拉松。

2、in+一段時(shí)間+'s+time

主要表示“多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間之后”，相當(dāng)于“after+一段時(shí)間”。如：

In five minutes time we shall be stopping at the Canterbury restaurant for lunch.

五分鐘后我們即將在坎特博利餐廳停下并進(jìn)午餐。

三、更多拓展

That clock's ten minutes slow.

要表示鐘表快了或者慢了多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間的話，其用法為：

（一）快了多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間

時(shí)間段+fast，或者，時(shí)間段+ahead of time，如：

你的手表快了十分鐘，而你還是遲到了。

Your watch is ten minutes ahead of time and youre still late. 

也可以說(shuō)“gain+時(shí)間段”，如：

My watch has gained ten minutes since yesterday.

從昨天算起，我的表已經(jīng)快了十分鐘。

（二）慢了多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間

時(shí)間段+slow，如：

Put your watch forward, you're five minutes slow.

把你的表?yè)芸煲恍?，你慢了五分鐘?/span>

也可以說(shuō)“時(shí)間段+behind time”，如：

He was late for school because the bus was ten minutes behind time.

他上學(xué)遲到了，是因?yàn)楣财?chē)遲到了十分鐘。
