　　Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,

　　Welcome to this year’s English speech competition. Our topic is “The English Novel I Like Best”. Each competitoris required to tell us the English novel he or she likes best and the reason, coming along with the perspective of their own.

　　To hold this speech competition, we want to give students a chance to enhance their ability to speak English in public. Anyway, it’s also a useful way to help students make it a habit to read books.

　　It’s every competitor’s competitor to control the time, no more than 5 minutes. Also, every competitor should do their best to speak fluently and pronounce every word correctly.
