He found a book especial useful during the periods of waiting: waiting doctors, meals ,buses and so on.. That is how he found himself fifteen minute a day for reading. That was how she read twenty books a year---one thousand of books all his lifetime.

What a long winter vacation! I stay at home doing nothing except homework every day like robot. One day, a idea occurred to me: “Why not to find a part-time job to learn something new?” The next morning, after visit many shops, I was lucky enough to find one in a small but pretty cake shop. When a tired—looking old man came in to buy some cakes, I immediate helped him sit down in a chair and brought him the cake. After he paid them, I said thanks to him. He looked too happy that he praised me with a satisfied smile. From this , I learned: “Be good to others or they’ll be good to you.”

After shopping, Mother and I went to a restaurant for lunch". I notice Mother looking at a nearby table occupy by an elderly woman and young couple. They ate silently, and it was clearly that things were not going well. As we left, Mother stopped on their table. "Excuse me," she said, put her arm around the unhappy old woman. "You remind me so many of my mother. May I hug  (擁抱) you?"  The woman smiled happily as she accepted to it. After we left, I said, "That was very nice of you, Mother. So I didn't think she looked like Grandma. " "Neither did me," said Mother cheerfully.

Christine was just a girl in one of my classes. I never knew much about her except for that she was strange. She didn’t talk many. Her hair was black and purple, and she worn black sports shoes and a black sweater, even in the summer. She was, in fact, rather attractively, and she never seemed care what the rest of us thought about her. Like the rest of my classmate, I didn’t really want to get closest to her. It was only when we did their chemistry project  together that I begin to understand why Christine dressed the way she did .

My sister saw a lovely cup when we are shopping the other day. She liked it at once. Then she bent down and picked up to look at a price on it. As she did this, lots of tea splashed on his T-shirt! I had to try hardly not to laugh at her shocked face! My sister wanted get out of the shop as fast as she could when a shop assistant came over to us. It was turned out to be her own cup, that she’d left on the shelf by mistake. The assistant was clearly as embarrassing as my sister, for I just thought it was funny!

I’m good all the subjects, and always ready help others. At school I get along well with my classmates. Therefore, I have a problem that troubles myself all the time. It’s the relationship among my deskmate and me. He is a hard-working student, who keeps school rule well. But he’s a person with a few words. What’s more, he got angry easily. I don’t know how to deal with him. Maybe it’s why we’ve seldom sat down to exchange our feelings or thoughts. I value our friendship. I hope we can know more about each other and understand each other better. I do hope we will be close to each other than before.

Although it was autumn, but it was snowing in Tibet. It was such cold that our legs felt like blocks of ice. On the late afternoon, we found that our water bottles froze because cold weather. But we still enjoyed us during the journey. At one point, we were surprising to find ourselves cycling through clouds. In the valleys colorful butterflies fly around us. It was a great fun to cycle down the hills as it gradual became much warmer. So we had to change our warm coats for T–shirt and shorts.

College student have a few ways to pay their college fees. Many students have their parents to pay the fees. Some students may apply to a bank loan and others will try to find part-time jobs in and out of the campus. Apart this, many good students can win a scholarship. By this way they can pay at least part of the fees. As to me, I only let my parents pay half of their fees because they are rich enough. Beside my study, I will take up a part-time job by teach some high school students maths, physics, chemistry and English, as I’m very good at these important subjects. Of course I will also work very hard at my lessons in order to I can easily win a scholarship.

I am angry about the act of dishonest in exams. I’m not saying that I’m a good student or I’ve never cheated. I once write the answer on my hand for a history test but, unluckily, I caught by my English teacher. Because she was one of my favorites, there were no words to describe how sorry I felt at the moment. I thought cheat would help me keeps my straight A’s. Little I know that I was hurting not only me but also my teachers. From this lesson I know teachers want students to succeed by learning with their own, by do their best, but not by cheating.

Friendship is very important. Everyone need friendship. In all our lives we can’t live with friendship just as we can’t live without air and water. Friendship makes us getting on well with one another to go ahead under different kind of difficulties. But real friendship is no easy to come about. True friendship must be sincerely and be based on understand each other. A good friend can always be a good teacher.   By a friend’s advices we are persuading to go the right way. Therefore more friends we have, the better we can improve ourselves.

My secret of staying young is simple: keeping your mind awake and you will stay young all over. Take an interest in world around you, and learn at least one new thing every day. Don’t think that you are ever too old go back to school. I know a man who entered medical college in 70. He get his degree with honors and became a famous doctor. Other man went to law school at 71 and is now a active lawyer. You may say that stay young is easy only for those live in the future. In fact, you can do it whether you care enough to try to keep your mind awake and active, which is the only way to be always young.

My swimming experience is extreme interesting. There was a time when I swim like a rock. This went on till one day when I was fishing with a friend of mine at nearby pond. I slipped into one. Has my friend not come to my rescue, I would have been drowned. Ever since then, I had come to know the importance of learning to swim. I didn’t attend any training class but learned it all by myself. Strangely, I have no difficult swimming at all now. Though the way I swim look awkward (笨拙的), it can keep me float. Thinking of this, I feel quite satisfying.

In a summer night in Taiwan, Xiao Hong was going on her way to school happily then suddenly she felt the street was violent shaking. The trees were torn up and many buildings are leaning down to the ground. Even a car was destroyed by fallen buildings. She was knocked down by a tree before she knew. Two doctors carried him to safety and she was settled down in a tent for treatment. After some time, she recovered. Seeing such many goods from the mainland of China and other country, she believed all the destroyed houses would be built.

Suddenly we saw both the girls glaring at us. Before we could explain them, they had walked out angrily, left the food unfinished. They thought we were making fun of them. Today we were organized for a short trip to the West Hill. We set out by the school bus at 7:30 a.m. The weather was pleasure and every one of us was excited. After that we had our picnic lunch. In the afternoon we walked along the river, that winds around the hills. We took a lot of photo and enjoyed ourselves very much. Time past quickly and we had to go back. It was past five o’clock then we returned school. What a good trip we had today! I’ll never forget it.

It’s important of us to keep good eyesight. But do you know what to protect your eyesight? First, don’t keep your eyes work long . You’d better have a rest, looking in the long distance after you’ve studied an hour and so. Second, pay attention for the following: Don’t read in the sun or in a poor light; don’t read in bed or in a moving bus. And when read you should keep a book away from your eye for a foot. Third, do eye-exercises every day, that will also help you keeps good eyesight. If you obey the rules, I think, you may prevent yourself from become short-sighted.
