本次教學(xué),培養(yǎng)孩子對敘事順序的敏感。孩子從小就知道,做事情要有順序。吃飯之前要先洗手,這是順序。先做作業(yè),之后再去玩,這是順序。翻開英文字典,發(fā)現(xiàn)單詞都是按字母依次排列,這也是順序。

 

媽媽可以啟發(fā)孩子說:再復(fù)雜的事情,只要按照順序,一點點完成,就能成功。媽媽可以在不忙的早晨,比如周六日,利用早餐機會,擺出盤子、刀、果醬、長條面包,讓孩子動手制作果醬面包片。媽媽可以鼓勵孩子按照一步步的順序,說說果醬面包片的制作過程,孩子說的時候,媽媽可以介紹一些英文常見的描述順序的單詞,比如:first, next, then, last, before, after 等等,這些詞起到提示敘事順序的作用,被稱為“路標(biāo)詞”。 

 

孩子需要明白,讀故事的時候,一定要弄清楚故事發(fā)生的順序。如果能把一個故事按順序分成好幾部分,對理解故事的進展和脈絡(luò),是很有幫助的。

 

在英語閱讀策略中,對敘事順序的把握,是其中一項要求。孩子需要借助文章里的“路標(biāo)詞”,把握故事發(fā)生的順序。 

 

開始練習(xí)嘍!

一、先讓孩子閱讀下面的故事。 

The Pet Shop 

  Malik and Kristen walked quickly down the street with their mom.  Today they were going to get a new pet.

  They finally got to the pet shop.  First, the kids saw kittens.  Next, they saw frogs, fish, and snakes.

  “I want that brown cat!” said Kristen.

  “I want this green snake!” said Malik.

  Malik and Kristen started to argue.  Then suddenly, something stopped them.  They heard yelping coming from the floor below.  A cute puppy had gotten loose and was looking up at them and barking.

  “We’ll take that puppy,” said Mom.  “Anything that can stop my kids from fighting has got to come home with us.”

  Everyone went home very happy.  They liked the trip to the pet shop.

 

二、啟發(fā)孩子回答問題。

 

  讓孩子拿著熒光筆,媽媽開始提問。

三、對對答案

 

  “路標(biāo)詞”交代故事的進展順序,孩子應(yīng)該用熒光筆,像下面這樣,把“路標(biāo)詞”涂上顏色:

媽媽可以幫著孩子,像下面這樣梳理故事順序:一開始(First),Malik Kristen 來到寵物商店;接下來(Next),兩個孩子因為挑選寵物,發(fā)生爭執(zhí);再后來(Then),小狗的汪汪叫打斷了孩子的爭執(zhí);故事最后(Finally),媽媽決定把汪汪叫的小狗買回家。
