本次教學，也是圍繞 but 展開，但和上次略有不同。練習之前，讓孩子看下面的句子。

    ① The dress is beautiful.      （這件衣服好漂亮。）

            ② Wendy does not like the dress.   （溫蒂不喜歡這件衣服。）

  媽媽問孩子：這 2 句話，和上次練的句子，有什么區(qū)別？

  孩子回答說：上次練習的句子，句子開頭都是一樣的，而這 2 個句子，開頭都不一樣。

              第一句是“The dress”開頭，第二句是“Wendy”開頭。

  媽媽說：真棒！觀察很仔細！學習英文寫作，就是要養(yǎng)成認真觀察句子的習慣。

  媽媽接著說：我們可以把這兩句話，用 but 連起來。

  媽媽一邊說，一邊在紙上寫：

The dress is beautiful + but + Wendy does not like the dress

= The dress is beautiful but Wendy does not like the dress.

  寫完之后，媽媽問孩子：找找看，這句話里，哪兩個詞是重復的？

  孩子說：the dress 是重復的。

  媽媽說：英語不喜歡重復，所以咱們把這句話改寫成：

The dress is beautiful but Wendy does not like it.

  媽媽用熒光筆，把句子里的“The dress”，“but”和“it”涂上顏色。媽媽還要告訴孩子，句子最后的“it”，就是代替句子開頭的“The dress”。

  開始練習之前，媽媽可以提醒孩子說：今天，我們練習用“但是（but）”，把 2 個句子合并到一起。

開始練習嘍！

一、讓孩子動筆，完成五組練習。 

① The alarm clock is ringing.     （alarm clock: 鬧鐘）

② Rosie cannot wake up.  

① + but + ② =                                                          

① It is winter.

② The flowers are in bloom.    （in bloom: 開花）

① + but + ② =                                                          

① It is time to go to school.     

② Ann is still sleeping.    

① + but + ② =                                                          

① Daniel likes to draw.    （draw: 畫畫）

② Daniel's sister likes to play the piano.      

① + but + ② =                                                          

① The flowers are beautiful.    

② Jessie does not like the flowers.     

① + but + ② =                                                          

二、完成之后，一起對答案。   

  The alarm clock is ringing but Rosie cannot wake up.

  It is winter but the flowers are in bloom.    

  It is time to go to school but Ann is still sleeping.     

  Daniel likes to draw but his sister likes to play the piano.

  The flowers are beautiful but Jessie does not like them.    

  注意：如果孩子把第四組合并成 Daniel likes to draw but Daniel's sister likes to play the piano. 媽媽要用熒光筆，把句子前后兩個 Daniel 劃上顏色，并提醒孩子，英語不喜歡重復，應該把 Daniel's sister 改成 his sister

  如果孩子把第五組合并成 The flowers are beautiful but Jessie does not like the flowers.  

媽媽要用熒光筆，把句子前后兩個 flowers 劃上顏色，并提醒孩子，英語不喜歡重復，應該把句子最后面的 flowers 改成 them

  孩子寫錯的句子，要重新謄抄一遍。

三、對完答案，讓孩子像下面那樣，把句子里的 but 劃上熒光筆。

  The alarm clock is ringing but Rosie cannot wake up.

  It is winter but the flowers are in bloom.   

  It is time to go to school but Ann is still sleeping.   

  Daniel likes to draw but his sister likes to play the piano.

  The flowers are beautiful but Jessie does not like them.

  劃完熒光筆之后，媽媽對孩子說：寫作文的時候，用 but 是為了提醒讀者，后半句話的意思，將有所轉(zhuǎn)折。
