深圳為什么被稱為“鵬城”?社會(huì)上曾廣泛流傳這樣一種說(shuō)法,從地圖上看,深圳呈東西向狹長(zhǎng)、南北向扁平狀,就像一只大鵬鳥(niǎo)。 Why is Shenzhen called “Roc City?” It is widely believed that Shenzhen looks like a roc, a mythical giant bird, on the map since it is long and narrow east-west and flat north-south. 深圳真的是因?yàn)樾嗡拼簌i鳥(niǎo)而被稱為“鵬城”嗎?追尋檔案蹤跡,深圳的別名“鵬城”源于大鵬所城悠久的歷史。 Does the name “Roc City” really have its origin from Shenzhen’s shape on the map? In fact, it originated from the name of Shenzhen’s “Dapeng Fortress” (Dapeng happens to be another Chinese name of the mythical roc). ▲《明史·地理志》有關(guān)東莞守御千戶所和大鵬守御千戶所的記載(原書藏于中國(guó)國(guó)家圖書館)。The records of the Dongguan Shouyu Qianhu Fortress and Dapeng Shouyu Qianhu Fortress in the geography volume of of the “Annals of the Ming Dynasty.” (The original copy is preserved in the National Library of China.) 大鵬所城位于深圳市大鵬新區(qū)鵬城社區(qū),全稱“大鵬守御千戶所城”,始建于明洪武二十七年(公元1394年),由廣州左衛(wèi)千戶張斌督造,時(shí)隸屬南海衛(wèi)。大鵬所城在明清時(shí)期抗擊葡萄牙、倭寇和英殖民主義者的斗爭(zhēng)中起過(guò)重要的作用,是我國(guó)東南沿?,F(xiàn)存較為完整的明代軍事所城之一。 Located in Pengcheng Community, Dapeng New District, Shenzhen, Dapeng Fortress is also known as “Dapeng Shouyu Qianhu Fortress.” It was built in 1394, with its construction under the supervision of the general Zhang Bin. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Dapeng Fortress played an important role in the battles against the Portuguese, Japanese and British colonialists. It is also one of the few relatively complete military fortresses of the Ming Dynasty still in existence on the southeast coast of China. 在經(jīng)歷海防、屯兵、行政治所和集居點(diǎn)等歷史階段后,大鵬所城至今保存了明清兩代的規(guī)模、格局與整體風(fēng)貌。 After years of changes, Dapeng Fortress preserves the scale, layout and overall appearance of the Ming and Qing dynasties’ architectural style. 大鵬所城依山傍海,坐北朝南,平面呈不規(guī)則梯形,東西寬345米、南北長(zhǎng)285米,占地面積約10萬(wàn)平方米(其中古建筑面積8.77萬(wàn)平方米)。古城外有護(hù)城河,城內(nèi)有東、南、西3個(gè)城門及東北約300米古城墻基址。 With a total area of 110,000 square meters (87,700 square meters of which are ancient buildings), Dapeng Fortress has a width of 345 meters from east to west and a length of 285 meters from north to south. Located by the mountains and sea, the fortress is trapezoid in its layout and has an outside moat and three city gates. 城內(nèi)主要街道有南門街、東門街、十字街和正街,主要建筑有廣東水師提督賴恩爵“振威將軍第”、福建水師提督劉起龍“將軍第”、鄭氏司馬第、林仕英大夫第等近10座清代府第式建筑,還有大鵬糧倉(cāng)、侯王古廟、天后宮等。 Nanmen Street, Dongmen Street, Shizi Street and Zheng Street are the main streets of the fortress. Ten mansion buildings of the Qing Dynasty were built in the fortress, including the General Zhenwei’s Mansion of the commander of Guangdong Marine Force Lai Enjue, the General’s Mansion of the commander of Fujian Marine Force Liu Qilong, the Zhengshi Sima’s Mansion, and the Senior Official Lin Shiying’s Mansion. Also in Dapeng Fortress are the Dapeng Granary, Houwang Ancient Temple and the Tianhou Temple. 2001年,經(jīng)國(guó)務(wù)院批準(zhǔn),大鵬所城成為我市首個(gè)“全國(guó)重點(diǎn)文物保護(hù)單位”。2004年,大鵬所城被評(píng)為“深圳八景”之首。如今,大鵬所城以其獨(dú)特的資源和風(fēng)格成為深圳市歷史文化的重要名片。 In 2001, approved by the State Council, Dapeng Fortress became Shenzhen’s only “important heritage site under State protection.” In 2004, it ranked first of the “eight sceneries of Shenzhen.” Today, with its unique resources and style, Dapeng Fortress has become an important part of Shenzhen’s history and culture.
