quite 和very 都是副詞

very 還能作形容詞和名詞，但quite只有副詞屬性 作為副詞，從釋義上看，“很”“非常”“完全”，可能感覺不到明顯的差別

那么如何看待

quite+形容詞

very+形容詞

這兩種表達的區(qū)別呢？

一般情況下，從程度，情感態(tài)度和語氣上

quite 弱， very 強

用excited 作例，通過翻譯感知下

They were quite excited about moving to a new place.

搬新家了他們有點興奮。

quite excited = a little excited

They were very excited about moving to a new place.

搬新家了他們超級（炒雞）興奮。

very + excited = totally excited

有一般情況就有特殊，在口語中，如果quite跟一個non-gradable形容詞, 怎么理解, non-gradable, 即：不能分級，不能比較，非黑即白，非對即錯，這種類型的形容詞，比如“錯”和“對”，這類絕對形容詞。

She was quite right.

她完全正確。

注意：very不能修飾這些“絕對形容詞”比如：

very right (x) 錯誤滴

可以修飾“絕對形容詞”的副詞有： absolutely, completely, really and totally

absolutely right (√) 正確滴

總結(jié)：

一般quite加形容詞，可理解為，適度的，有點

a little, moderately but not very, totally or completely

但quite+絕對形容詞時，quite 表強調(diào)，非常，很，超級，跟very 意義又一樣了。

quite還有其他一些用法，quite +名詞，表強調(diào)
