*這是慣用表達(dá)方式，用于當(dāng)對(duì)方在考慮什么的時(shí)候。直譯是“給你一便士也好，請(qǐng)告訴我你在想什么?！?/p>

◎我想知道得詳細(xì)一些。 Tell me more (about it).
= I want to know more about it in detail.
= I'd like to know more details.
*比較有禮貌的說(shuō)法。

◎你的旅行怎么樣? How was your trip?
It was terrible. (太糟糕了。)

◎我在認(rèn)真地聽(tīng)呢。 I'm all ears.
*“聚精會(huì)神地聽(tīng)”。

◎會(huì)開(kāi)得怎么樣? How was the meeting?
We didn't accomplish much. (沒(méi)什么結(jié)果。)

◎繼續(xù)說(shuō)呀。 I'm listening.
*在對(duì)方停止談話時(shí)，向?qū)Ψ奖硎尽罢?qǐng)繼續(xù)說(shuō)下去，我在呢”或“我聽(tīng)著呢”。
= Keep talking.

◎我很想聽(tīng)聽(tīng)那件事。 I'd like to hear the story.
Did you hear about my trip? (你聽(tīng)說(shuō)我旅行的事了嗎?)
Not yet. I'd like to hear the story. (沒(méi)呢。我很想知道。)
= I'd like to know the story.
= I'd like to hear about it.

◎我們只是閑聊一會(huì)兒。 We had small talk.
*small talk “閑話，不著邊際的話”。

◎電影怎么樣? How was the movie?
I really enjoyed it. (我覺(jué)得很有意思。)

◎那部戲有意思嗎? Did you enjoy the play?
No, it was dull. (真沒(méi)勁。)

◎我想現(xiàn)在就談?wù)勀羌隆?I want to talk about it now.
Let's talk about it later. (那事我們以后再談吧。)

◎說(shuō)吧，說(shuō)吧。 Shoot!
*動(dòng)詞shoot有“發(fā)射，射擊”的意思，但在口語(yǔ)中也可以用來(lái)催促對(duì)方，“請(qǐng)說(shuō)吧”、“說(shuō)吧，說(shuō)吧”。

*用在說(shuō)話人說(shuō)一些無(wú)關(guān)痛癢的事，或沒(méi)有時(shí)間聽(tīng)完說(shuō)話人要說(shuō)的事情以及不想聽(tīng)的場(chǎng)合。
