(a) force to be reckoned with 值得注意的人物 “(a) force”,“力量”,可以指一個(gè)團(tuán)體、事物或個(gè)人;“reckon”在此的意思為“認(rèn)定”?!癮 force to be reckoned with”是形容“有成功的條件而值得注意的人物、團(tuán)體”。 例:The new company will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. (這家新公司未來(lái)值得大家注意。) 4. Don't I know it. 我完全同意! 當(dāng)此句型以句點(diǎn)(.)而非問(wèn)號(hào)結(jié)尾時(shí),表示完全同意對(duì)的方意見(jiàn),為口語(yǔ)用法,強(qiáng)調(diào)的是肯定的含意。意思為”我怎會(huì)不知道???;我當(dāng)然明白這一點(diǎn)!”。 例:You say the discount rate is too low? (你說(shuō)這折扣打得太少?我完全同意!) 5. in a nutshell 簡(jiǎn)言之 “nutshell”原為“堅(jiān)果殼”,又指“極小的容器”,故“in a nutshell” 這個(gè)副詞短語(yǔ)的意思是“簡(jiǎn)言之”。 例:Bob told us in a nutshell what happened in the managers' meeting. (Bob簡(jiǎn)略地告訴我們經(jīng)理們開(kāi)會(huì)的情形。) 6. growth sector 成長(zhǎng)領(lǐng)域 這個(gè)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)上的名詞是指經(jīng)濟(jì)成長(zhǎng)特別快速的領(lǐng)域,“sector”是“區(qū)域;部門”的意思。 例:The leisure and entertainment industry is a growth sector in Taiwan. I'm with you. *'對(duì),對(duì)'、'很好嘛'、'我贊成'、'OK'. I'm for it. I don't agree. (我反對(duì).) 我也這樣認(rèn)為. I think so, too. *更口語(yǔ)的說(shuō)法. Tokyo is too expensive. (東京的物價(jià)太貴.) I think so, too.
