不知不覺教堂上方的時鐘已經指向了11:30，可新郎be going to 還不見人影。維爾姑娘雖然一句話也不說，可臉上露出了焦急的神態(tài)。這時，大家又七嘴八舌猜測起了新郎的行蹤。這次，must 首先開口。

  must:  be going to 那么會計劃打算，平時都很少遲到，所以我認為他一定是逃婚了！他現(xiàn)在一定和別的女孩在一起！

（He must run away . He must be staying with other girls.)

 must 的話一出口，就像一顆重磅炸彈一樣，把大家的心都炸亂了。can 姑娘馬上反對，因為她最討厭must 自以為是的樣子，明明是猜測，卻總是說“一定是如何如何了。”好像她的猜測是真的一樣。所以can 就和must 唱對臺戲，總是說“不可能如何如何！”今天可是把她氣壞了，must 這個當姐姐的，怎么能在will 的婚禮上說出這樣的話！

  can: 你胡說，be going to 那么愛will, 他不可能逃婚的！說完，就向could 使眼色。

could: 對對對！他不可能逃婚的。could 趕緊隨聲附和。她可不敢違抗can。  （He can't /couldn't run away.)

may 姑娘一看倆姐姐吵起來了，趕緊過來圓場。她總是那么辯證客觀，一分為二。

 May：別吵了，婚姻不是兒戲，他可能不會逃婚，但可能是路上堵車了。你們瞎嚷嚷什么呀。

（He may not run away. He may be on a busy traffic.)

could/might: 對對對，may 說得對，也有可能他忘了領帶放哪里了，可能正在找領帶呢。她們不擅長猜測，就隨便說出個想法。

（He could/might forget where the tie is, and he could be looking for it everywhere.)

不過，這句話把will 姑娘也逗樂了。will 是個浪漫的姑娘，只憧憬未來，很少對現(xiàn)在的事進行猜測。但今天是她大喜的日子，她也堅定地說了句話。

will ：他一定不會逃婚的，他一定是在忙著為婚禮儀式準備呢。（He won't run away, he will be preparing for the wedding. )

善良的should 姑娘也說道：別著急，他應該是在路上呢。（He should be on the way to the wedding.)

愛對現(xiàn)在做猜測的姑娘：must ,   cann't,   couldn't,  may,   (may not),   might,  ( might not),   could.   

可以但很少對現(xiàn)在做猜測的姑娘：will  (won't  )  , should (shouldn't)

姑娘們對現(xiàn)在做猜測時以這樣的面貌出現(xiàn)：1. modal + do，  2. modal + be doing

1. He must run away. (自信滿滿：一定是……）

2. He can't/couldn't  run away.（堅決否定：不可能……）

3. He may run away.  He may not run away.（辯證客觀：可能……，可能不……）

4. He might run away.  He might not run away. （不擅長：也許……，也許不……）

5. He could run away.（不擅長：也許……）

6. He must be looking for his lie everywhere. (自信滿滿：一定在……）

7. He can't /couldn't be looking for his lie everywhere. .（堅決否定：不可能在……）

8. He may be looking for his lie everywhere.  He may not be looking for his lie everywhere..（辯證客觀：可能在……，可能不在……）

9. He might be looking for his lie everywhere. He might not be looking for his lie everywhere.（不擅長：也許在……，也許不在……）
