劉允才教授,1990年在美國伊利諾伊大學(UIUC)電氣計算機工程系獲得博士學位。1990-1991年在美國伊利諾斯大學貝克曼科學研究院從事博士后研究。1991年加入日本住友電氣工業(yè)株式會社,任研究員系統(tǒng)顧問、研究員總顧問。2000年10月加盟上海交通大學,被聘為國家教育部獎勵計劃特聘教授,博士生導師,國際學術(shù)期刊《Pattern Recognition》編委,中國圖像與圖形學學會學術(shù)委員會委員、學會理事。劉允才教授長期從事于計算機視覺理論方面的研究工作,在采用二維視頻圖像的剛體三維空間運動估值方面做出過原創(chuàng)性的研究。他導出了采用圖像線元求解空間剛體三維運動參數(shù)的必要條件和完整的算法(非線性算法);在此基礎(chǔ)上,又首次導出相應(yīng)的線性算法,為三維空間運動估值方面的研究奠定了理論基礎(chǔ)。劉允才教授還首次提出了基于二維——三維線對應(yīng)元的圖像載體空間定位方法,該理論被有關(guān)領(lǐng)域的學者廣泛引用。在采用圖像角元的剛體三維運動估值方面,他原創(chuàng)性地提出了由單幅圖像角元直接求解空間物體結(jié)構(gòu)的算法,并應(yīng)用于剛體三維空間運動估值。他還第一個提出并證明常參數(shù)運動是一個柱面螺旋運動,并將這一結(jié)論應(yīng)用于長序列圖像的三維空間運動估值。在近期研究的連接剛體運動分析方面,他導出了在不存在運動約束的情況下,連接剛體初始姿態(tài)定位、連接點位置估計和序列圖像的連接剛體運動分析方法;此外,他在圖像特征提取、圖像特征匹配、攝像機與系統(tǒng)定標等方面進行了大量的研究。目前,正致力于彈性連接體和人體運動分析方面的研究。劉允才教授的研究興趣包括非剛體物體的三維運動估值、視覺導航與空間定位、三維重建、異構(gòu)圖像配準、系統(tǒng)定標、計算機輔助外科手術(shù)、數(shù)字地圖自動生成、智能交通等,承擔了國家自然基金、國家973課題、國家863、國家教育部、上海市科委、國際合作等項目;聯(lián)合出版著作3部,在包括IEEE Trans. PAMI、IEEE Trans. Image Processing、IEEE Trans. Intelligent Transportation Systems、Pattern Recognition、Physic Review、CVPR、ICCV、ICPR等學術(shù)期刊與會議上發(fā)表論文200余篇;申請發(fā)明專利65項,授權(quán)35項;獲得2002年度教育部提名國家科學技術(shù)獎自然科學二等獎,上海市2003、2004、2005、2009年度科學進步二等獎;被評為上海市優(yōu)秀博士論文獎導師、全國優(yōu)秀博士論文提名獎導師。
